This project is a speculative view on the future of the bullshit jobber. Alot of people find their jobs to be very useless. The way ignorant companies try to fix this is by hiring consulting companies that supposedly fix these problems. This game/real life exposition is a extreme futuristic way these companies might go about making the job more doable, or even addicting. This has proven to work. For example, there have been people who pressed the spacebar in over 15 000 times in one sitting. Showing us that these addicting ways to completely wire us in are working very well.
As people walk past the exposition, they can see workers press a spacebar over and over again. Which also gives the person that is not actively participating in the experience some speculative insight.
Process
Very early in our process, we wanted to see if being in the vr world makes us more vulnerable in the real world. As immersion can be an incredibly powerful tool.
Some of my personal contributions were mapping out interactions and feedback loops. Since we wanted to make the project addicting. That became my goal.
Because it is very hard to read in as an image, you are free to visit my miro for the full process me and my group went through.
Some of my main contributions:
-The real life desk decor
-A great part in coding (mainly visuals like graphics and particles)
-Concepts and testing
